P&C - Parents & Citizens Association
The association welcomes new parents and encourages participation in the
variety of activities performed. Fund raising for extra equipment and facilities is an important function
of the group and a host of activities is organised to achieve this end. Attendance at
meetings also helps you to stay informed on what is happening in the school.
School Council
A School Council operates at Chifley and is composed of elected
representatives from the parent body, the school staff, a P&C representative and an
appointed community representative.
The Council assist in formulating school policies, overseeing the
financial administration of the school and in the future planning of Chifley Public
School.
All parents are welcome to attend these meetings.
Parental Involvement
We encourage your attendance at school functions. There is a wide range of
these each year held at regular intervals including such things as Easter Hat parades,
Book Week activities, Education Week activities, Open Day, Special Assemblies and so on.
In addition, many parents contribute by being directly
involved in
classrooms working with small groups or individual children. Others contribute by their
involvement with the P&C, by helping to maintain the school grounds, or assisting at
school sport.
